In March of 2022 my work Evening in the Antiworld was premiered at the University of Northern Iowa New Music Festival. The work is a setting of the poem Palindrome by Lisel Mueller and is scored for violin, piano and mezzo soprano. The premiere was performed by my colleagues Michelle Monroe (sop), Sang Koh (vln) and Vakhtang Kodonashvili (pno).

In March 2020 The University of Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra (under the baton of Dr. Rebecca Burkhardt) premiered my new work Cloudscape” Morning Glory”. This work is a short tone poem, referring to the Morning Glory Cloud.https://soundcloud.com/jonathan-schwabe/cloudscape-morning-glory

This is a setting of a poem by Baudelaire “Sorrows of the Moon” featuring UNI Jazz I under the direction of Chris Merz, and UNI Concert Chorale under the direction of John Wiles.
